NoteEncompasses approximately 1,034 acres. This WMA lies along the James River in Southwestern Fluvanna County with approximately 2.5 miles of James River frontage. Approximately 3.3 miles of the Hardware River and its confluence (at the James River) lie within or on the boundary of this WMA as well. A wide array of habitat can be found, ranging from upland hardwood and old field habitats to bottomland hardwoods and floodplain fields providing a wide array of hunting opportunities. The Hardware River is a Delayed Harvest trout stream. A public boat ramp provides access to the James River. The bridge crossing the Hardware River was replaced this spring/summer, thus restoring vehicle access to the boat ramp.
